About TempMail

Why we built this and how it works

What is TempMail?

TempMail is a free, open-use disposable email service. It generates a temporary email address on demand — no signup, no password, no personal information required.

Use it whenever a website asks for an email address and you don't want to hand over your real one. The address accepts incoming mail for 60 minutes, then disappears completely.

How It Works

  • Step 1 — A random address is generated the moment you visit the site.
  • Step 2 — Use that address anywhere a temporary email is needed (sign-ups, trials, verifications).
  • Step 3 — Incoming messages appear in your inbox automatically, refreshing every 5 seconds.
  • Step 4 — After 60 minutes, all messages and the address itself are permanently deleted from our servers.

Why Use a Temporary Email?

  • Avoid spam in your personal inbox.
  • Sign up for free trials without long-term marketing emails.
  • Register on forums or apps anonymously.
  • Test email delivery during software development.

Technology

TempMail is built with plain PHP, no frameworks required. Emails are stored as JSON files on the server and cleaned up automatically by a scheduled cron job. The frontend is pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no heavy libraries.

Limitations

  • Temporary addresses cannot send emails — they receive only.
  • Some services block known disposable mail domains.
  • Do not use temporary addresses for accounts you intend to keep long-term.
